ChatGPT "What do you know about me that I might not know about myself based on our previous interactions?"
19 November 2024
There's a recent trend to ask ChatGPT to provide insights about you, that you're possibly unaware of. I gave it a go, and have pasted the results below.
To ensure you're getting a fair comparison, follow the question up with "Can you do the same thing, this time being critical?"
I know that there's going to be a heavy bias toward the types of questions and tasks you assign to the LLM, but it is an interesting exercise nonetheless!

Your recognition of contributions from others, such as [x] and [y], reflects a leadership style that values collaboration and appreciates support.
- Strategic and Analytical Thinker: Your approach to technical challenges, such as designing complex web service architectures and security programs, indicates a high level of strategic thinking. You balance both the high-level vision (e.g., creating architectures with layered security protocols) and the detailed execution (writing applications with specific functional requirements). You consistently prioritize long-term solutions over quick fixes. For example, your roadmap’s progression from baseline controls to advanced monitoring reflects a strategic growth plan.
- Lifelong Learner and Educator: From your mentorship roles to teaching a cybersecurity bootcamp, you're constantly involved in both learning and teaching. This indicates a dedication to personal growth and contributing to the growth of others in your field.
- Detail-Oriented Problem Solver: Your technical projects often involve complex, multi-faceted systems that require precision and detail (e.g., ICMP pings with command-line arguments, secure email applications, and SMTP testing). This shows you have a strong focus on solving problems meticulously, without leaving gaps in implementation.
- Adaptability and Versatility: You've handled various roles, from a cybersecurity instructor to working on software development projects in different languages and environments. This indicates a high level of adaptability, showing that you're comfortable wearing many hats and can transition between strategic leadership and hands-on technical work.
- Commitment to Continuous Improvement: Whether it's developing new security programmes or refining your software projects, you demonstrate a consistent focus on improving both your personal skills and the tools or teams you manage.
- Analytical Approach: You exhibit a highly structured and detail-oriented thought process, emphasizing data-driven decision-making. For instance, your work on the cybersecurity roadmap demonstrates a focus on measurable outcomes and aligning strategies with frameworks like NIST CSF and Essential 8.
- Educational Depth: Your expertise and interest in technical topics like PKI, cybersecurity frameworks, and PowerShell scripting suggest a deep understanding of information security and system administration.
- Precision in Communication: You value accurate and referenced responses, as shown by your strict guidelines for factual accuracy and sourcing in our conversations.
- Attention to Emerging Threats: Your interest in incidents like PRC-related cyberattacks and the evolution of PKI indicates a proactive awareness of current and future challenges in cybersecurity.
